and since shouting is bad for everyone's health, i'm not going to shout. And even if i shout, less than half the class listens (which defeats the very purpose of shouting in class), so i'm not going to shout. so instead, me, on behalf of enviro, will very kindly remind you guys of the PLASTIC BAG SYSTEM COLLECTION PERIOD through the class blog and the overly-vandalised whiteboard (although i believe that nobody bothered to look at the white board today) so, ENViRO reminds you that you have 7 more days (minus [today plus weekends]) to give us plastic bags. and you will very kindly come to ME (aka Yun Zhen) to give me the plastic bags. so yes, i hope 7 days and a littl bit more (ie Saturday) is enough for you to bring plastic bags. yes? and fyi, these plastic bags are for April. And please, please, please AND please keep in mind that these plastic bags are in the interests of the class and the class. An analysis on the number of school days in 2008 that have been or will be disrupted by public holidays and school activities has shown that Mondays and Fridays are the worst affected and Tuesday is the least affected. As such, we will have to replace: - 2 Tuesdays with Friday timetable and - 1 Tuesday with Monday timetable. The details of the replacements are: - Tuesday, 1 Apr timetable will be replaced with Friday (odd week) timetable; - Tuesday, 15 Apr timetable will be replaced with Friday (even week) timetable; and - Tuesday, 1 Jul timetable will be replaced with Monday (even week) timetable. The change will only affect the timetable within official school hours, i.e. 0720h to 1445h. CCAs and other activities, e.g. 3rd lang, enrichment programme, meetings, etc. will remain as per normal. OUR new PLASTIC BAG system
but, well, only the front people actually bothered to listen to me and a few of the back people so now, i'm trying to announce this on the class blog rightt... we, the enviro people, (me aka Yun Zhen, Chelsea, Aileen, Melissa, Jodie, Chuning) have come up with a PLASTIC BAG SYSTEM uncreative name, i know. so as you guys should know, a certain teacher was complaining that our dustbin was platicbag-less so, finally, enviro has decided to take action after 3 months MIA. every single one of you who considers yourself a part of 113 is to bring a plastic bag every month. we encourage you to bring supermarket plastic bags like NTUC, Prime, Giant, Carrefour, Cold Storage etc. but as long as the bags are big enough to hold the garbage in the dustbin, we aren't going to kill you. And as the name obviously suggests, we have a proper system to go by. On the last week of the month, we will remind/warn you guys to bring plastic bags, you can start bringing plastic bags on that week. But, we would prefer you to bring plastic bags on the next week. We will collect plastic bags on the warning week and the first three schooldays of the next week. Please don't anyanyhow give to any enviro person, you come and give to ME. In case you suffer from premature senile dementia like me, my name is YUN ZHEN. i sit in the middle column of the class, second row, middle seat. Don't give me a stupid excuse like, "Oh, i couldn't give you my plastic bag because i forgot where you sit" I'm gonna fine you. fining. the really not nice (for you guys) part of our PBS (Plastic bag system) to make sure you bring a plastic bag, we are gonna implement fines. fines means you pay money when you don't bring your plastic bag or bring your plastic bag late. nope, it's not gonna go into our pockets. nope, it's not gonna go into the class fund. I"LL EXPLAIN WHY. don't freak out yet. we are gonna go outside our classroom. we are probably gonna donate the fines to some charity. i think we would prefer if it does something related to the enironment, but seriously, any charity works i haven't confirmed which charity, but you can be sure that it's not gonna be used to buy our lunches. if you have a charity in your mind, spam my inbox and what is the fining rate? after the 3-day collection period, it means you are OVERDUE 10cents everyday, not counting weekends, school hols, and non-schooldays I don't know if we are going to fine on Saturdays. probably not. DON"T COMPLAIN ABOUT THE FINES we give you like, more than 8 days to bring, and remember to bring. but, you probably won't end up paying fines, cuz you probably will remember to bring. If there's any changes, i'll announce it in the class blog and will TRY to announce in class. i think that's all. lost and found is still kinda work in progress. and if you are the kiasi kind, it might help you to know that we don't collect September's plastic bags in April. so no "in advance lah" kind of thing. but you can stuff your whole year's supply of plastic bags in your locker. We will collect plastic bags for Apr, May, Jul, Aug, Sep, and Oct. Any questions on this, please approach me (again, I'm YUN ZHEN), Chelsea, or Melissa cuz, the rest of enviro weren't there for the large part of the meeting. yup, we'll deal with March ourselves, since there's not many days left. if you wanna donate plastic bags, you can. but, i think, as long as you guys bring plastic bags, we won't need extra. and please, we don't appreciate the kind of "oh, our dustbin has been plastic bag-less for one whole term, why must we have plastic bags now kind of attitude." We can't do anything if you refuse to pay fines. But, remember, this is YOUR class, 113. Science international competition thingy
Those who r interested in signing up for the Science comp/test thing, pls bring $8.60 (try to have exact change) on Mon when sch reopens before assembly. This is the FINAL deadline so if you haven't decided/forgot to bring the $$ umm.. too bad (there's still next yr though...) The test date is going to be on 26th April, 3.30-4.30pm and excuse letters will be provided for 3rd lang, CCA. I'm not sure where the test will be held and I'll tell you that later.
